For those of you really looking to get away from it
all, I highly recommend the southern coast of
Portugal, also known as The Algarve. I have
visited many times and the weather is perfect in
the summer - always sunny, dry and MILES of
beaches.
For my American friends, Portugal is a great
place to spend a vacation. The Algarve is the
second home to many folks from the UK, so
English is spoken everywhere. It's a small
country, so easy to get to many different
locations if you tire of the endless sun and
beautiful beaches. It can be a bit built-up in
some areas, but if you are willing to explore, I can
guarantee you areas where you will see no one
or just a few people. I HIGHLY recommend it!
Recently I stayed in a lovely apartment and I am
providing the link to that apartment below. It's a
one bedroom apartment that can easily sleep 4
(twin beds in the bedroom and a double bed in
the living room). It has a beautiful kitchen with a
washer, enormous terrace and a lovely pool.
You will definitely need a car, but well worth it so
you can travel to the many beaches the Algarve
has to offer.
